Where can I get the VIDEO VERSION of "Fever" on
CD?

The GERMAN CD maxi-single
for "Rain" contains the video mix of "Fever"
that everyone has been looking for. The remix is actually called
"Edit One." Here is the complete track listing for
the German CD: "Rain" (Remix Edit, 4:17) - "Fever"
(Edit One / Video Remix Version, 4:03) - "Rain" (Radio
Remix, 4:33) - "Up Down Suite" (Previously Unreleased)
12:14). The catalog number of this CD is 9362-40984-2. Please
note that this is a regular CD single, and does NOT contain any
video footage. It will play on a laserdisc player (audio only),
and will play in a DVD player (audio only), but will NOT display
an actual video for "Fever." Cover artwork is identical
to the Japanese "Rain" EP.
What kinds of commercials and
product endorsements has Madonna done?
- Madonna has done television commercials for
Pepsi,
Max Factor, BMW,
Mitsubishi, The
GAP, and Sake (a Japanese product), as well as "public
service announcements" for MTV's "Rock The Vote"
(filmed with her Blond Ambition dancers Jose and Luis), AIDS
(filmed in a high school hallway), Global Warming (with SEAL),
and more. Her resumé
(circa 1979) states that she's also done commercials for A &
P supermarkets, and Gotham Sound Studios. She's even done a commercial
for NIKE footwear (which has never seen the light of day) - but
in it, she looks just like she does in the "Vogue"
video, and she says "I do what I want, and I wear what I
want......ask Pepsi"
- Where can I get the song "Sidewalk
Talk"?
- Another obscure song from 1985, "Sidewalk
Talk" written by Madonna was released on under Jellybean's
credit for his debut album. It features most vocals by Catherine
Buchanan with Madonna on backup. This version topped the American
dance charts in 1985, and it is common item in any Madonna collection.
Bray revealed to Goldmine
however, that there is another unreleased version produced by
Madonna and Stephen featuring Madonna on all the vocals. There
are two "main" versions of "Sidewalk Talk."
The full-length version (about six minutes long) appears on the
Jellybean CD "Jellybean Rocks The House." The original
3:58 "edit" version of the song appeared on the 80's
Greatest Hits Compilation CD "Living In Oblivion Volume
Three" (although this CD is now out-of-print and very hard
to find). However, three other Varios-Artist compilation CDs
have since featured "Sidewalk Talk" (Edit Version,
3:58) - they include "1986 - A Time to Remember" (currently
$9.79 on CD through cdnow.com);
"Greatest Hits Of The 80's (2-CD set; currently $17.99 through
cdnow.com); and "Shut
Up And Dance" (Volume 1, the 80's) - also available through
cdnow.com.
How the hell can I get
a SEX book?
Since the SEX book is now almost eight years old, it's virtually
impossible to find. But I do occasionally find a copy here and
there, but I also have a waiting list a "mile long"
for the book. It's obviously out-of-print, so you can call every
book store in the world, and you're not going to find it. The
best way to find a sex book is to CLICK
HERE - this will bring you into the eBay auction web site,
and automatically do a search for Madonna SEX books. There are
usually between 20 and 50 SEX books up for bids at any given time.
Where can I get one of those cool jackets like Madonna wore
in "Desperately Seeking Susan"?
- Sorry, but you can't. They're LONG-GONE.
The only hope you have of maybe finding one of these jackets
is to search
an auction site like eBay for the jacket. But here are some
photos and info about the jacket, just in case you're curious....

The (in)famous jacket used in the
film was duplicated and sold by Identity, Inc. (marketed by Targeted
Communications, Inc.). This dry-clean only jacket has sold on
the eBay auction web site for hundreds of dollars!
Here
is one of the original advertisements for the jacket, which sold
for only $49.95 at the time. Click on the small photo at left
to enlarge. I'm sorry, but I blurred out the company's address,
because this jacket is NO LONGER AVAILABLE, and I didn't want
that poor company to get a thousand pices of mail per day, asking
for the jacket! Photo of the ad courtesy of William (his e-mail
address is not given, to prevent people from e-mailing him and
asking him for the address).

How many covers have been done of madonna songs
and by who?
1. "Like A Virgin" by Teenage Fan Club
2. "Like A Virgin" by Lords of the new church
3. "Into The Groovey" by ciccone youth
4. "Burning Up" by Ciccone Youth
5. "Burning Up" by Babyland (punk-rock cover version)
6. "Like A Prayer" by BiGod20 (punk-rock cover
version)
7. "Live To Tell" by Tori Amos (she performed this
on MCM (french music cable channel), around 1993.
8. "Like A Prayer" by "Who's That Girl!"
(cover group)
9. "Promise To Try" by French/Canadian singer MYLENE
FARMER. She sang this during her 1990 tour. This track is unavailable
on CD.
10. Richard <richtwan@cable.a2000.nl>
notes that in 1986 (before Madonna released it!!!) there was
a girl from Italy called Michaela and she released the single
"La isla bonita" I don't know about other countries
but she reached #10 with it in the Netherlands after barely 2
months after that Madonna released the song and went to #2 in
the Netherlands, and at that time everyone thought she used it
from Michaela because that one was released earlier. Richard
also notes that Michaela sings the song with a "terrible
Italian accent."
11. "Live To Tell" by "Blonde Ambition" (cover
group)
12. "Live To Tell" by John Tesh (new-age instrumental)
13. "Live To Tell" by David Frisell (guitar instrumental)
14. "Justify My Love" by Sleep Chamber (all-male
band)
15. "Vogue" by D.D.T. (punk-rock cover version)
16. "Holiday" by M.C. Miker "G" and Deejay
Sven (two guys that did a "rap" version)
17. "Who's That Girl" by Marlyn Cara (very hard
to find, but it's stupid anyway)
18. "You'll See" by Donna (Direct Hit remix, up-tempo
version)
19. "Rescue Me" by Donna (different "Donna"
than above), really bad cover
20. "Material Girl" by Israelian singer NOA (who
is now at geffen records). She did "Material Girl"
during her tour in 1992. You can find the CD (NOA and Gil Dor
live, MCA Victor, # MVCG-179).
21. "Material Girl" by Tori Amos (she performed
this on MCM (french music cable channel), around 1993.
22. "Justify My Love" by Donna (different "Donna"
than #11 above, really BAD cover)
23. "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" -- Various artists
have come out with covers of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina"
since Madonna did it for "Evita," such as "Mac"
(solo artist, I think), "Who's That Girl!" (cover group),
and "Festival" (a group, I believe). I haven't heard
the "Mac" or "Festival" versions yet, so
I don't know how good they are. Many other artists have done
this song BEFORE Madonna sang it for "Evita," such
as Sinead O'Connor, Donna Summer, Patty Lupone, and others.
Also, there have been many "medleys" that have
been done by artists other than Madonna. Off-hand, the only ones
I can think of are by "This Year's Blonde" (did something
called "Who's That Mix" back in 1987) and that brand-new
one by "Rachel" (called "Dance Into The Beat).
24. "Frozen" by PATTY - Madonna cover in euro pop
dance style, also with a fabulous downbeat version that uses
the music from 'Billie Jean' originally recorded by the Oxygenated
Disfigured One. For those of you craving poppier versions of
this hit, look no further! - OAK - ITY - 12 - OAK001(11)
25. "Into The Groove" by BANDIDO - POP - HI NRG
- Madonna's older hit from the 80's gets reworked for the 90's
in a big NRG kind of vein, with a vivacious vocal a throwback
to the poppiness that she embodied before she became frigid,
or rather, 'Frozen'. - 21ST CENTURY - ITY - 12 - CNT21200(8)
26. "Frozen" by LOLA. These remixes are very Hi-energy,
danceable, and well-done. The vocals are very similar to Madonnas.
The following cover versions by Lola exist: Acapella, Gelato
Dance Edit, Gelato Dance Mix, Casa Mix Edit, and Roy "Jazz"
Grant Casa Mix.
27. Ray Of Light/ Substitute For Love 12" by PATTY.
She's taken on 'Frozen', and now she's back to finish off the
rest of Madonna's repertoire! Lively pop dance that gives the
'Blond one with child' a run for her money! One mix has a Donna
Summer 'I feel love' type of bassline in it that works great!)
Ray Of Light /5 Versions 12" by PATTY. Following last
week's 'Substitute for Love' by Patty, which also included 1
version of 'Ray of Light', Patty returns with her Madonna remakes
with this fabulous 5 version extended EP of versions of 'Ray
of Light'. All have a new pop dance flair, some leaning more
toward Euro energy, some toward progressive and some toward straight
pop. The last two are very strong organ melody based versions
that have a Robin S type vibe going on that is simply blissful!
Go Patty!
Aron Schor <techphob@cloud9.net> has also mentioned
that Marilyn Manson has done a cover of "Like A Virgin"
- I haven't heard it, but I'm sure it's horrible!
Tori Amos covered Madonna's "Live To Tell" only
one time - it's also one of the RAREST Tori audio tracks around,
and I've never seen it on any of the bootleg Tori CDs. Someone
did once send me a tape of the performance though, but the quality
was so soft and muffled, that you could barely make it out.

How many songs has madonna written for other
people, sang back up on, or released on compilation albums?
--Songs she wrote or co-wrote for other people:
**MARILYN MARTIN: "Possessive Love" (Written by Patrick
Leonard, Madonna, and Jai Winding; co-produced by Patrick Leonard,
features Jai Winding on keyboards, and Donna DeLory on backing
vocals). The only version that exists is the Original (LP) Version
4:21. From the album "This Is Serious" (Atlantic Records
Catalog No. 81814. Issued 1988 - now out-of-print and very hard
to find).
**DONNA DeLORY: "Just A Dream" (Written by Patrick
Leonard and Madonna). Can be found on Donna DeLory's solo album.
Madonna also appears on backup vocals.
**LOVE OVER THE TELEPHONE (1987) - Written and produced by
Madonna and Don Johnson. Performed by Madonna and Don Johnson.
This song was mentioned in a Madonna interview in a French magazine.
It is still unreleased apparently because of 'copyright complications'.
Don Johnson's and Madonna's record companies were both said to
be fighting for copyright of the song. This is the french magazine
interview: "And what about your recording project with Don
Johnson?" Madonna: "We have already written the words
but we've been working over the telephone because I've been in
New York and he's been in the series Miami Vice in Florida. Now
we must work together in the studio and the song can then be released.
The title is Love Over The Telephone...". I've never heard
it before, and quite frankly, I doubt that it really exists.
**GET OVER (1991). Written by Madonna and Stephen Bray. Produced
by Madonna and Shep Pettibone. Performed by Nick Scotti with Madonna.
Originally called "Can't Get Over You", this dance track
was featured on the Soundtrack to the film "Nothing but trouble"
as well as Nick Scotti's solo debut album. I beleive the soundtrack
was only available in the USA and abroad by import. It was supposed
to be released as a single but became a B-side with multiple remixes.
Madonna wrote this song around the time of "Rescue Me"
and it is rumored that she recorded a solo version for "The
Immaculate Collection" but dumped it so to help launch Nick
Scotti's career.
**LOVE WON'T WAIT (1997). Written by Madonna. Sung by British
Singer Gary Barlow. Reached the #1 spot in the UK. It's a lot
like You'll See and One More Chance with another famous line used
by Madonna from the BS era. There is said to be a demo version
of the song recorded by Madonna that she sent to him as a guide.CLICK HERE to read the LYRICS
to this song!
**EACH TIME (YOU BREAK MY HEART) (1986). Co-wrote by Madonna,
performed by Nick Kamen (backup vocals by Madonna). Richard <richtwan@cable.a2000.nl>
notes that the kid who appeared in the "Open Your Heart"
video (and was also pictured on the PICTURE
DISC for "Open Your Heart") also appears in the
video for "Each Time (You Break My Heart)."

How come some of the graphics on The Madonna Catalog web site
have "TMC" embedded into them?
- First of all, more than 75% of the photos
on my web site are EXCLUSIVE to my site. In other words, they
are all scans and photos that do not appear on any other web
site (at least that I've seen). I take great pride in owning
and operating such a unique, exclusive web site. This is my FULL-TIME
JOB.
-
- Secondly, I spend COUNTLESS HOURS each day,
doing all my own photography and scanning. I spent tens of thousands
of dollars to have all the latest and greatest digital cameras,
scanners, computers, etc. Believe it or not, some of the graphics
on my web site have taken me HOURS to get just right - especially
those scans of LARGE items such as large magazines and 12"
single sleeves. These scans must be painstakingly pieced together
with Adobe Photoshop (since my scanner isn't big enough to get
the whole image at once), and this takes a LOT of time, and requires
several years of skill and experience. It really hurts my feelings
when I see a graphic that I spent all that time on, shamelessly
lifted from my site, and just plopped into someone else's site,
without giving me any credit whatsoever. In case you didn't notice,
any photo on my site that is NOT mine (ones that I did NOT photograph
or scan myself) is clearly given CREDIT to the original owner
of the picture - it's only common courtesy.
-
- I look at the Madonna web-site world as a
world with stiff competition, where everyone out there is always
trying to be the first and the best, and trying to have all the
latest graphics and info before everybody else. I'm sure you
can understand this, especially in other things like the newspapers,
magazines, and other media - everyone (especially the tabloids)
is always racing to have the most exclusive and newest photos
on THEIR cover, and I'm sure they'd be very upset too if they
saw pictures that THEY took ending up on other people's tabloids
and magazines.
-
Is there anther pro-shot video of The Virgin tour? If so where
can I get it from?
Other than the one released on VHS video, I've never seen another
pro-shot video for the Virgin Tour anywhere. But I'm sure there
are people out there that might have some, you just have to track
them down. Believe ir or not, Madonna DID perform "Borderline,"
"Angel," and "Burning Up" during some shows
of the Virgin Tour, but these performances are NOT on the official
video - the only way to get them on AUDIO that I know of is on
an unofficial 3-CD box set
called "Vogue."
How many Cameo apperances has madonna made in movies?
- **Blast 'Em (1992). Joseph Blasioli, approx. 90 minutes,
rated PG. (Note: Paparazzi documentary includes footage of Madonna
being pursued by, and reaching viscerally to, pushy shutterbugs).
- **Four Rooms (1995),
various directors, rated R.
- **Blue In The Face (1995),
Wayne Wang, rated R.
- **Shadows And Fog (1992),
Woody Allen, 85 minutes, rated PG-13.
- **Girl 6 (never saw it,
so I don't know much about it).

Who is Otto Von Wernherr, and what is he doing
today?
adonis@phayze.com writes,
"The early years collection tracks are actually produced
and distributed by Steven Bentzel from Mia Mind Music. I worked
with him in 94-95 on my own music and I agree with most other
Madonna fans... buying anything pertaining to the "Early
Years" of Madonna from Receiver records IS a waste of money,
not to mention working with this "producer" now turned
Music "promoter/marketer". He lives on the fact that
he worked with Madonna in the early eighties and uses that to
reel people in. Someday I'm sure he'll cash in on my success as
well.

How many pro-shot tour videos are there?
At least nine, that I can think of: Blond Ambition from Nice
France, Barcelona Spain (TV Broadcast), and Yokohama Japan; Virgin
Tour from Detroit; Girlie Show from Australia and Japan; and the
Who's That Girl Tour from Italy ("Ciao Italia") and
Tokyo, Japan (released on both VHS
and laserdisc). Also the new
Drowned World tour has been released on VHS and DVD on November
13, 2001. Special thanks to Bo Jensen for the corrections and
additions to this subject.
Is the "autographed" photo that the
Official Madonna Fan
Club (OMFC) gives you actually autographed?
The "autographed" picture you receive with your Fan
Club membership is NOT really autographed, it's simply a black
& white 8 x 10 glossy photo that has been "stamped"
with an image of Madonna's real autograph. They occasionally change
the photo that you get, but I know for sure that the "autograph"
is always just a stamp, and never actually signed by her - I've
seen many of the photos that they send out, and it's easy to tell
that it's not really signed. Sorry to disappoint you, but this
is the truth!

- THAILAND 3" CD RELEASES (3 total):

"Don't
Cry For Me Argentina" (approx. value $45 to $50)

Surin <Mtrlboy@aol.com> shows us this very RARE "Don't Cry
For Me Argentina" Promo 3" CD from Thailand. The
CD comes in a mini cardboard slipcase with cover artwork that's
virtually identical to the french cd single release (if you compare
the two side-by-side, you'll notice only extremely minor differences
in the lettering and word spacing). There's promo statement on
the back of the cover. The disc inside doesn't say anything about
being a promo though. The disc is actually identical to the disc
found for regular 3" release of don't cry for me in Thailand.

"Beautiful
Stranger" (very rare, worth approx. $400.00)
USA 3" CD RELEASES (2 total):
·
"Like
A Prayer" (7" Version, 5:19) - "Act Of Contrition"
(2:18)(3" CD in thin, long cardboard logo sleeve and detachable
3" square picture sleeve, Cat. No. 2-27539.) Very RARE -
worth up to $125.00 if MINT and factory sealed

"Where's
The Party?" (4:13) and three other tracks ("Angel"
by Aerosmith; "Just Like Paradise" by David Lee Roth;
and "Fishnet" by Morris Day). (Catalog No. CDS-000031-2),
3" promo-only CD sampler with promo-label, not commercially
released as a CD single. Worth about $45 to $50. THIS JUST IN!
I just found out that this 3" CD was once part of a 3-CD
set in "longbox" packaging! The last photo above shows
a long package with three different 3" CDs, one of which
is the one that contains Madonna's "Where's The Party".
I would imagine that a sealed copy of this 3-disc set is worth
at least $75 to $100.
- You know I'll take you there........
